Next Full Moon - June 4th
June's full moon is known as the Strawberry Moon, named after the ripening and harvesting of strawberries during this month. In Europe, it's also known as the Rose Moon.
Next New Moon – June 18th
Litha, Summer Solstice, or Midsummer: June 21
This solstice marks the official beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, resulting in the longest day and shortest night of the calendar year. On the day of the June solstice, the Northern Hemisphere receives sunlight at the most direct angle of the year.

The Summer Solstice is a day of power in the wiccan calendar and forms part of the wiccan wheel of the year which includes the festival celebrations of solstices and equinoxes .
The life giving properties of the Sun are celebrated all over the world with fire festivals, dancing along with other rituals. Monuments such as the pyramids and Stonehenge were built to measure the summer and winter solstices and the equinoxes.

The summer solstice is a good time for divination and spell work relating to love and romance and with everything growing and thriving there is a real sense of abundance. Keep at least one candle lit throughout the day and if you are planning a ritual they are best performed at noon when the sun is at its highest point .
Ways to honour this sabbat can be a gathering of your tribe, eating outdoors and enjoying the warmth of the day, eating fresh fruit and vegetables—ideally from you local area or even your own garden.

Crystal Magic - My favourite Crystals
Amethyst brings energies of stability, peace, calm, balance, courage and inner strength. It can be used to help ease the pain of grief, and promote happiness.

Amethyst derives its name from the Greek word ametusthos which means ‘not intoxicated’. For centuries, Amethyst has been thought to be useful in the prevention of drunkenness and overindulgence, which is why ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved out drinking vessels from it, it was also popular with the Romans for the same reason. I wear an amethyst permanently, I am not sure what that says about its effectiveness relating to drunkenness. 😊

The Apache Tear is also known as the grief stone and I have found this particular crystal to be really effective for grounding and balancing the emotions and assisting with overcoming grief. As a variety of Black Obsidian these are strong stones for grounding and protection as well as helping to clear negative emotions that may be holding you back. There is a sad native American legend about Apache Tear, google it !!

Another favourite stone of mine is Aquamarine, I use this stone a lot because I feel it has the calming, soothing energy of the sea. I find this stone to be calming and uplifting. It is also a stone of courage that promotes openness, innocence, light heartedness, creativity, communication, self-awareness, confidence and purpose. Also a good stone to give someone travelling overseas.

Blue Lace Agate is a gentle, calming stone associated with the throat chakra and the ability to speak one’s own truth. It’s interesting that people who find it difficult to express themselves often suffer with throat problems on a regular basis and this stone is particularly useful for communication in difficult times, it would also be a good stone to assist with public speaking, and difficult discussions.

Celestite’s is regarded as a crystal with an angelic energy and some people believe it assists them in communicating with the angelic realm. It has a soothing effect which is has been useful to me in times of pressure and stress. It is also a good stone to have in your bedroom as it helps to calm nerves and encourage restful sleep.

Chyrsocolla is a great stone, it has a high copper content which accounts for the colour. In recent years the cost of this stone has grown exponentially but it is still a great gem to have in your collection if you can source it at a reasonable price. I have found this stone to be helpful for the hips, joints muscles and lungs. Chrysocolla is popular with people who have had joint replacements or suffer with arthritis, and rheumatism. It works in a similar way to a copper bracelet

Citrine is a very sunny stone which is associated with abundance and wealth and helps decision making. It is a stone associated with the solar plexus, natural citrine is a superior stone and much commercially available citrine is actually amethyst that has been super heated. Citrine is also a good general protection stone and many people carry one in their purse, wallet to promote wealth. It is said to alleviate self-doubt and is especially good for digestion and assisting digestive orders.

Black tourmaline, also known as schorl, is associated with the root or base chakra, and is excellent for grounding excess energy. It is a well-known as a purifying stone that deflects and transforms negative energy, and is very protective. It can transform and remove negativity from an individual or an environment. This stone should be used in moderation as excessive wear can lead to a wearer becoming defensive.

Unakite is particularly good for overcoming self-imposed blocks and past hurts. It is good for fertility and pregnancy. Connects the base and heart chakra allowing moving forward from the heart. Helps to rebalance and deal with the concept of loss in whichever form it may take.

Magnesite contains a high level of magnesium and is good for bone and teeth disorders and It relieves headaches, especially migraines.

Malachite represents the innate beauty of flowers, trees, roots and plants. It is a Stone of Transformation and providing for spiritual growth. Good for physical balance, general health and detoxing.

Red Jasper is called a stone of fairness and justice, it is also said to enhance responsibility, choice, and compassion. I find it particularly useful for back pain and have a flat stone which I often place on my back when I go to sleep.

Turquoise is a very sacred stone used for centuries by the Native American's in all healing work. This is a stone of peace, serenity and tranquillity. Increases protection, meditation energy, wisdom, balance, honest communication, strength, friendship and love. Good for travellers.
Auras
Auras regarded as the unseen field of energy surrounding a person's physical body. They are affected by our mood and emotional state (and sometimes the states of others), and different colours are associated with different qualities and emotions.
Someone's aura is generally a combination of colours, with one being more dominant than the others, and while your aura can constantly shift and change, many people will have one particular colour that dominates.

You can experiment with your ability to see auras by rubbing your hands together and slowly pulling them apart to see if colours appear. The more you practice this, the better you will become at seeing the energetic field around your own body.
If you want to see someone else's aura, first you need to hold your gaze on them steadily until you start to see the glow around their body, this is sometimes easier against a white wall as it is easier to see colour.
Although not everyone may be able to see auras it is a skill that can be developed with practice .If you are fortunate enough to be able to see auras here are some basic meanings relating to the various colours.

White shows a well-balanced personality, one that is calm and open to possibilities.
Gray auras can show scepticism and uncertainty about others.
A brown aura can denote a selfish persona.
A black aura can reveal a dark energy which is pessimistic and unkind.
People with a red aura tend to live by their desires and emotions.
Creativity is indicated by an orange aura.
Yellow auras indicate high energy and optimism.
Green auras suggest a grounded, hard-working person who is a nature lover.
Blue auras reveal emotional sensitivity and self- expression.
An indigo aura denotes a wise person with an old soul.
Violet represents spiritual awareness and psychic skills.
Herb of the month – Nettle

Most people only know nettles as weeds that sting, yet the humble nettle is so much more with its healing properties and even a healthy source of food. While Folk lore attributes the powers of protection and fertility it has been used to protect against lightning, to enhance fertility, to reduce the swelling of arthritic joints, to heal the sick and even bestow courage on those who carry it. In the Middle Ages it was used combat fever, varicose veins and even intestinal parasites . Nettle leaves contain flavonoids as well as tannins and vitamins A and C. Nettle tea acts as a stimulant and energises due to the high iron content of the leaves. The tea is also used to treat acne and urinary tract infections, as well as headaches or colds. To provide sunburn relief and speed up skin regeneration, the cold tea can be used to make cold compresses that should be placed directly on the affected areas. Twin Flames & Soul Mates
Throughout life we will meet many people, fall in love, make numerous connections, I was asked recently to explain the differences between Twin Flames and Soul Mates , this is my personal interpretation .

Twin Flames are a powerful union, some cultures believe that a twin flame is one soul split in half because these relationships tend to reveal so much to each person. There will be real similarities in terms of behaviours and viewpoints, whether they be good or bad, as a result of this it is not uncommon for these relationships to be challenging. A twin flame comes into your life and teaches you something important about yourself, and it could even be something you don’t particularly like!!
When you meet your twin flame there will be an instant attraction, or a recognition that doesn’t fade away and you will form a powerful bond, often twin flames feel as if they have met before or have always known each other, however romantic this may sound, the reality is that the co-dependency which can develop between twin flames can make for a toxic relationship. Sometimes a twin flame journey ends in conflict because both partners see themselves reflected in the other, including insecurities and traits they actually dislike. Twin flame connections can be transformative and develop profound spiritual growth and will often set people on a new life path.

A soulmate supports you as a friend, lover, or confidant. You can have more than one soul mate, but only one twin flame at a given time. Soulmates are two souls with a special emotional connection who are totally compatible but are likely to have different personalities. Soulmates can transcend much more than romantic love and it is possible that your true love—your spouse or romantic partner—is your soulmate, but you can have another or a different soulmate, like a family member or a best friend. A soul mate connection is built on a sense that you’ve known each other throughout time and your souls feel at home with each other. Losing a soulmate can be a tremendous loss as this person is so important to have in your life. A soul mate connection rarely has tension and is based on love. You know the absence of this person would be an immense loss.
The Last Word – Spending Time in Nature – A Swift Escape
It is well documented that spending time in nature is good for your soul and has various benefits for your health and well-being. Researchers in Japan concluded that participants who walk in nature are more likely to have lowered stress levels and studies also show that looking at nature scenes or listening to nature sounds like birds chirping can reduce anxiety and lessen the effects of stress.

You don’t need to travel far to escape and I recently enjoyed a stay at A Swift Escape which is about 20 minutes away from where I live. If you want to engage with nature and are not a fan of pitching a tent and losing your home comforts then Glamping offers a great alternative, you get all the benefits of being in nature without the stress.
The retreat offers everything you need, its pretty secluded, has copious amounts of hot water, a very comfortable bed, a fire pit and a wood burner.
Enjoying some sunshine and just listening to the birds can be an immersive experience and offer a real sense of connection to the great outdoors.

Getting back to nature is particularly enjoyable when you are immersed in a hot bath outdoors, enjoing a glass of something and watching the sky change as the sun sets leisurely over the surrounding fields. It’s a great place to stay if you are looking for a short break, an escape from everyday pressures and a sense of peace right on your doorstep, why waste time travelling? it will do wonders for your well-being.
Blessed Be – Lou
